Martinborough Vineyards Te Tara Pinot Noir 2009 - Martinborough, New Zealand

Surprising dark purple with light ruby edges. The nose leads with the oak, then on deeper inspection reveals wild berry, charred gamey meat aromas and some vegetable stock. The palate is generous, ripe and weighty but unfortunately a warmness is present on the finish with the alcohol level. A big kiwi Pinot with all the trimmings.

89 Points
