Podere Ruggeri Corsini San Pietro Barolo 2001 - Barolo Langhe, Italy
Expected Barolo colour of murky brown with a ruby center. Coconut, tar, old leather and burnt coffee. You could just smell this wine for hours. The palate is firm, long and still a touch young. Gamey, spicy flavors mingle and there is great complexity. Break out Italian hard cheese and enjoy this wine at a slow pace allowing maximum breathing. A great vintage for Barolo in general that built wines for long ageing. A$74.99/bottle
